WONGA VINE pandorea pandorana
- Age
- Planted 18th December 2005.
- Where it's Growing
- Full sun on a hot tin shed. Although it's base and roots recieve no sun and are in a cool moist position behind the shed and surrounded in much bigger plants.
- Upkeep
- We keep it well watered. Especially during hot weather as it should be in a more shaded spot. During 'very' hot days the vine actually gets burnt ontop of the tin shed.
There is not much we can do about it. We may need to completely cover the shed with shade cloth this summer 2007.
- Growth Patterns
- Has grown brilliantly. Is very big now and big enough to cover a good amount of the shed. Doing great and
is absolutely 'covered' in flowers for its first flowering season (2006)
- Flowers in early Spring.
- Future Notes
- 26.9.06- This plant looked like it was struggling a bit. So I gave it cow manure, dynamic lifter ,
mulch and liquid fertilisers.
- 13.8.07- This vine is almost completely covering the shed now & is almost dangling over the shed & down to the ground in spots.
It is also covered in flower buds ready to open in spring. It may be due to the fact that the soil around its roots has a thick
layer of composted mulch & top soil now. A huge success!
