LILLY PILLY acmena smithii
- Age
- 23rd October 2004 planted along back fence.
- Where it's Growing
- Growing in a very sunny spot next to a big colourbond fence. But it seems to be going ok.
- Upkeep
- Needs 'alot' of water and 'alot' of mulch. Need constant care and attention and prone to getting this bug that puts lumps in the leaves and curls them.
I have to cut the affected leaves off quiet often too get rid of the bug.
- Growth Patterns
- It is quiet exposed and does not grow all that quickly.
It gets burnt in summer and we really have have to keep it watered.
- Flowers, not sure yet. will let you know.
- WHERE IT'S INDIGENOUS
- Future Notes
- This plant has suddenly had a huge burst of new growth (25/10/06). It could be because I gave it cow manure and mulch,
then we had a bit of rain. Or because it has been in the ground now for 2 years.
- 13.8.07- This plant has done really well over winter and has now established itself very well. We rarely even water it.
I will give it some cow manure & mulch, then lets see how it fairs this summer??
