HAIRPIN BANKSIA banksia spinulosa
- Age
- Planted 14th August 2005, x 2
- Indigenous to local area
- Where it's Growing
- Full morning sun. Dappled afternoon sun. Exposed to frost and wind. Dry area.
- Upkeep
- These plants do very well in the surrounding bush. Less well in our garden. I was watering our plant and mulching it.
But it didn't seem to like this. So I stopped & it is doing better. Don't do anything to it now except remove leaf litter from
around it occassionally & remove all the caterpillars from it.
- Growth Patterns
- Very slow growing & prone to getting eaten by caterpillars.
- Flowers autumn through to spring.
- Future Notes
- 12.8.07- Only have 1 left now. But the one that is left is flowering beautifully &
is healthy apart from where caterpillars have been eating it quiet alot.
