FLANNEL FLOWER actinotus helianthi
- Age
- August 2006 three planted in middle garden.
- Indigenous to local area
- Where it's Growing
- Reasonably sheltered positions that recieve alot of morning sun, then dappled sun in the afternoon.
- Upkeep
- Fragile little plants. I'm always loosing branches and things off them. They seem to need a fair bit of water, mulch and fertilisers aswell.
- Growth Patterns
- Slow growing but occassionally when the conditions are perfect, they will have a big growth spurt and look great. Until the white cockatoos
come along and break big branches off them! (true story)
- Flowers mid Spring
- Future Notes
- I gave the 3 new plants in the centre of the garden some liquid fertilisers today. So we will see how they react (26.9.06)
- 12.8.07- We now only have two left and one of them is on its way out. The last one remaining is actually doing ok. So far.
