DUSKY CORAL PEA kennedia rubicunda
- Age
- Where it's Growing
- Shaded positions as a ground cover although it prefers to grow up into trees and shrubs all over the garden.
- Upkeep
- This is an interesting ground cover as it is difficult to tell if it is doing well or dying off. But most of the time it is doing well.
It needs to be kept an eye on as it just 'loves' to grow tangling itself up into the surrounding tall trees and shrubs. We are constantly untangling it out of
other plants. We give it water, blood and bone, slow release and worm juice regularly through summer.
- Growth Patterns
- It seems to grow better when it is off the ground. I noticed leaves are much bigger when the plant is in almost full shade but in open area.
- Flowers late winter and all spring.
- Future Notes
- 12.8.07- I removed the big one from the middle of the backyard in mid winter. It was taking over and looked messy.
It had a baby though, not far from where I removed the old one. So that is staying.
The big one out the front is in full flower at the moment and growing remarkably well.
