BAY TREE laurus nobilis

• Where it's Growing
  • We planted this in a reasonably sheltered position which recieves a moderate amount of morning sun only. I completely smothered it with thick mulch and fertilisers.
• Upkeep
  • We have put a very thick layer of mulch all around this tree and so we have not needed to water it very much. We are constantly adding slow release fertiliser and dynamic lifter though.
• Growth Patterns
  • Grows well in summer when well watered.
• Native to the southern Mediterranean region. Grows best in partial shade. Water when dry. Thrives with frequent watering in rich, well-drained soil.
• Future Notes
  • 15.1.07 Growing very very well. Have been watering it alot & it now has heaps of new growth.
  • 01.01.08 Has heaps of new growth as we had a very wet December. The most new growth it has ever had!
