AGAVE agave attenuata
- Age
- Put into pots 21st February 2006, x 2
- We got these from my Mum up in Northern NSW. A subtropical area.
- Where it's Growing
- We have two of these in large pots in half sun, under a gum tree canopy, up the far back garden.
They are exposed to the heat, wind and frosty winter nights.
- Upkeep
- We have watered these in dry conditions. They probably don't need it, but they are in an exposed area and don't seem to mind a good watering.
- Growth Patterns
- These are growing ok. Very quickly.
- Flowers ?
- Native to the plateau of central Mexico
- Future Notes
- 12.8.07 Both are going a bit yellow since winter started. Especially the old growth. But there is healthy new growth coming through.
We do water them both a fair bit.
- 01.01.08 Moved the two plants up to the far back of the garden, under a bit of a canopy as they were struggling down near the front gate.
They are doing better in their new location now with new fronds opening. Although the hail storm we got at the beginning of December damaged them alot.
